At our practice in Kiel Brunswik we work with a special bond between humans and animals: animal-assisted therapy with specially trained therapy dogs. This form of treatment uses the positive effects of contact with dogs to support physical, mental and emotional processes — in a natural, playful and motivating way.
Therapy dogs act as a bridge between therapist and patient. Through targeted exercises, joint play or simple touch, trust, relaxation and motivation grow. The dog's presence supports empathy, concentration and communication skills — and can gently dissolve blockages or anxieties.
